International Assigments - Etiquette, Skillset or Mindset?

You have selected a team member to take on an international assignment. How do you plan to prepare them? You could buy them a book which gives them tips on whether to 'kiss, bow or shake hands'. You could send them on a seminar where they learn cross-cultural communication skills. You could just send them hoping that they will learn from the experience.
